Having a baby is one of the most transformative experiences in a woman’s life. As a Licensed Massage Therapist who has specialized in maternity massage (both prenatal as well as postnatal), I have thoroughly enjoyed supporting women through this experience and helping them to navigate the physical as well as emotional changes that come along with it. This will be a rather long post. I recommend that you pour yourself a cup of tea and carve out some time to sit down and read- I want this to read just like you were my client- how I would advise you in each stage of thisRead More →

TGIF my beautiful friends! I’ve been basing blog posts on questions I’ve received from you, my readers! Subscription skincare has been a hot topic among you. Does it really work? Can a skincare professional truly give you a good assessment from a photo without seeing you in person? I’m giving you the deal from my professional perspective. From a marketing and business standpoint, consultation with subscription skincare services are genius. Having your skin assessed by a professional in the comfort of your own home and on your own time rather than making an appointment in an office with either a Licensed Aesthetician or a Dermatologist?Read More →

This week’s Hero product is Rosewater! Why Rosewater? Rosewater has been part of my #estiesholygrail for years now! Rosewater has natural properties that calm inflammation, heals skin, reduces puffiness, contains antioxidants to protect skin from environmental damage, and has ingredients that act as inhibitors to elastase and collagenase, both of which are harmful to the skin. It is great for almost ALL skin types, and I also consider it part of a beautiful, nurturing skincare regime. How to use: Use with a cotton round in the morning to gently cleanse skin (in place of a skin cleanser), and do the same after cleansing at night!Read More →

TGIF my loves!!! I am SO excited to share with you my experience in Beverly Hills this past weekend! This past weekend, I had the opportunity to take a Master Class for Estheticians only with Angela Caglia. Angela in a renowned celebrity Esthetician at her skin studio in Beverly Hills. She has also very recently started her own natural skincare line that is becoming a premiere skincare obsession. Sold at Saks, Neiman Marcus, Space Nk, Violet Grey, Net-a-Porter, Mecca, Niche Beauty, Dermstore and Nordstrom online, I simply had to meet this woman and get certified in her Rose Quartz Goddess Facial, a favorite treatment ofRead More →

TGIF!!! Today I’m going to tell you exactly how Botox works, how long it lasts, and share a few caveats. How does Botox work? How long does it last? Botox, or Botulinum Toxin, is a neuromodulator that works by blocking acetylcholine. Acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter, signals the muscles to move. When the signal is blocked to the brain, the muscle can no longer move. So, it does not paralyze the muscle, only temporarily blocks the signal that allows it to move. It takes up to 2 weeks to see the effects and the effects last for 2-3 months depending upon your metabolism and activity levels. Good injections aren’t cheap, and cheap injections aren’tRead More →

Happy November my beautiful loves!  I had the privilege of being interviewed by my esteemed colleague and friend, Daniela Woerner, founder of AddoAesthetics. Daniela and I crossed paths for a brief time while she was the Director of Medical Aesthetics at Bella Santé- she was there a few years before me and I was there a few years after her, so we overlapped for a bit! So much of what I know about medical aesthetics (prior to actually working in a clinic) is from her. She is a wealth of knowledge and encouragement, so I was honored when she asked me to be interviewed forRead More →

2018. This year marks the beginning of a very big journey for me.  In 2005, my husband and I were sitting in the Atlanta Airport on a layover back to Boston from Nashville talking about our future. Both recent grads from music school (me from The Boston Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance; him with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Composition and Arranging from Berklee College of Music) After many conversations, we both decided that we had dreams of working in Medicine. More specifically, to become Doctors. I enrolled in school for Massage Therapy and later Esthetics as a way to support usRead More →

Hey y’all! TGIF! I have a special guest today! While studying at The Boston Conservatory, I had the privilege of becoming friends with a bright, plucky, fabulous gal from Connecticut who was studying Writing, Literature and Publishing at Emerson. Her name is Emily Edwards (neé Steers- she just got married!), and she also has a fantastic blog called “Yankee Smartass“. She has written her first book, Collecting the Constellations, and it inspired this post! Reading for Pleasure as Self-Care We all need things to stimulate each aspects of ourselves in order to be whole and balanced. We need exercise and healthy food for our physical bodies, weRead More →
