Hey y’all! TGIF! I’ve recently had some readers ask me what my every day makeup items are and what my routine is!
4 years ago I was introduced to Jane Iredale, and I am absolutely obsessed. I use their 4 step system for my foundation. I start by applying the Smooth Affair Primer for normal skin, follow with a pea sized amount of the Glow Time BB cream in BB6 (I apply this with a flocked sponge!) and then the Amazing Base mineral powder in Warm Sienna applied with a powder brush. Lastly, I use their Smell the Roses setting spray.
This system is so wonderful for evening out hyper pigmentation, rosacea, as well as masking acne. It was designed for post-ablative laser skin! Truthfully, now that I’ve had a BBL treatment my capillaries are SO much better so oftentimes I can get away with the primer and the powder only!
I like to keep my makeup routine really straightforward and simple. I start with Bobbi Brown’s Long Wear Cream Shadow in Shore as my base. I then apply her Eye Shadow in Bone and then layer Shell on top. In the crease I use a minky gray color from an older Stila pallette that I have. I use a Stila liquid liner to make my little wing and then I use Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in Black Plum to bring out the corners of my lids (just in front of the wing!)
My go-to mascara is the Defenicils and the Booster by Lancome. I use Blinc for my bottom lashes, because they tube the lashes rather than coat them. When I use traditional mascara on my lower lashes I always end up with raccoon eyes by the end of the day since I am looking down at my client’s faces while they are on my treatment table!
I also use Jane Iredale’s Mystikol Eyeliner in Onyx on my lower water line.
The Finishing Touches
Lastly, I apply Anastasia Beverly Hills concealer (similar) in 1.0 under my eyes and her Tinted Brow Gel in Brunette. I trace my E’s and 3’s using Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer. Then I spray with the Smell the Roses setting spray!
My every day lip
This whole process takes me under 5 minutes, which is exactly how long I need it to take for this season of my life while my girls are small!
