In this post, I’m going to walk you through a mild at-home peel featuring Peter Thomas Roth’s 40% Triple Acid Peel!   Step One Cleanse the skin with a gel cleanser containing mild detergents such as Simply Clean by Skin Ceuticals.  Dry skin very thoroughly with a towel. Step Two Break ampoule and apply peel product onto the pad provided. Step Three Swipe onto the skin, thoroughly saturating skin with peel product. It should feel “stingly”- a combination of stinging and tingly. Leave on for 2 minutes. (n.b. If you decide to do this as a series of weekly consecutive peels, you may increase the timeRead More →

Cold weather & wind, running the heat constantly at home and in the car can be a recipe for disaster (or at least discomfort!) for delicate facial skin. What to do? You may need to re-think your basic regimen for winter Unless your skin is naturally ULTRA dry (think- absolutely NO oil whatsoever), it may not be appropriate to cleanse twice per day during the winter season. I recommend using a swipe of toner in the morning (typically a gentle rose water will do! I love Little Barn Apothecary’s Aloe and Rosewater Mist) and then follow with a moisturizer that is slightly heavier than one you wouldRead More →

  1. What inspired you to create this blog? In the words of the great Danielle LaPorte, “What are people asking you for, right now?” I noticed that over the years as an Aesthetician and Massage Therapist, family, friends and clients would come to me with their most pressing skincare and spa questions- sometimes even complete with photos of a breakout or a rash asking “What do I do?” I found that about 70% of my job is hands-on, and the rest is all about consulting regarding the most appropriate products, treatment plan, or even just answering questions about what my favorite mascara is! (And who doesn’tRead More →

So, this year, I had my second baby on 11/1. I turned 34 on 12/12. I had decided that this was going to be “The Year of Botox” (I will get into when to take the plunge in a later post!) But then, since the summer, I started using MicroNight from Neocutis. Neocutis is a brand developed in Switzerland at the prestigous Medical School at the University Hospital of Lausanne over years of research for wound healing, particularly pediatric burns. It is a medical line only available through a licensed Physician. (DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT attempt to buy this on Amazon!) I originally fellRead More →

My Current Regimen AM- Cleanse with a swipe of Heritage Rose Water, I cleanse my eye area with Clinique’s Rinse-off Eye makeup Solvent (I love it because it does not leave an oily residue!) On very dry skin, I apply Phloretin CF by SkinCeuticals. Everyone should be on an Antioxidant serum and a Sunscreen. I use Phloretin as opposed to CE Ferulic because my skin is on the oilier side.  I allow it to dry for 5 minutes, and then I apply the new H.A. Intensifier from SkinCeuticals, then Citadine Cream by Phytomer, and lastly, Physical Fusion SPF 50 by SkinCeuticals for my sunscreen. I use TensageRead More →

Hi Skincare Belle! I am going to Whole Foods today to try to find some affordable anti aging products. Any recommendations? And rose hip I hear is good in the morning? (I am totally new to this) But after living on the equator and getting some bad burns and my sister had melanoma, and I spent the first 18 years of my life farming with no SPF, I am fighting to heal my skin and dark spots. Thank you SO much for your help! XOXO Sincerely, Beautiful Seeks Organic Anti-Aging   Hi Beautiful! As far as anti-aging, one of the best anti-aging steps you canRead More →

Hey Skincare Belle!!   I’m not pregnant, but I’m desperately hoping to be and I also have terrible skin-acne, aging, extreme combination oily/dry with this weather. Is there a regimen you recommend for pregnant ladies? I’m high risk (2 miscarriages this year and I’m also going to be 35 in April) so I just don’t want to push it with chemicals. I tried the brand Belli-but their moisturizer wasn’t hydrating enough for me. I was hoping you knew of a brand or had some tried and true products you recommend. ❤ Let me know!   xo, Skin Stressed Mama     Hello Skin Stressed Mama!  Read More →
