For the past month, I have tested out Biopelle’s Tensage Stem Cell Cream. If you’ve read my anti-aging regimen post, you have seen that I swear by Growth Factors as an essential part of an anti-aging regimen. Now I’m going to introduce you to Stem Cells, another powerful anti-aging tool for your skincare toolbox!
As we age, our body’s natural stem cells lose their capacity to self renew as well as to create new cells after the old cells have died. As the existing cells begin to deplete, the proteins within them do as well. These proteins are vital to the support of the skin’s entire structure. (This is one of the reasons we start to see sagging, loose and lax skin on the face, which can make us appear older and soften our features into looking plain and aged). Applying stem cells topically helps to minimize the effects that the natural aging process has on the skin!
Growth Factors and Stem Cells
Biopelle’s Tensage line promotes the theory that Growth Factors and Stem Cells can work together synergistically to slow the aging process and support the skin. But what is the difference between the two and how can this be applied to your anti-aging regimen?
Growth factors assist in the efficiency of EXISTING cells. Epidermal Growth factors are a family of peptides and proteins that naturally heals skin damaged by UVA and UVB rays, free radicals, smoke and pollution. Your body produces them naturally. As we age, these Growth Factors start to deplete in the skin. Applying topical growth factors can help to replace the ones that have been lost.
Stem cells that are naturally found in the body actually help to create NEW cells! As we age, our stem cell supply diminishes as well as the energy within them to repair, rebuild and replicate new cells. Applying stem cells topically helps to assist in the existing stem cells’ natural activity.
Biopelle’s theory of the synergy between Growth Factors and Stem Cells is one that I am absolutely going to apply to my anti-aging regimen going forward by using both! Supporting the skin’s rejuvenation throughout each decade of life will help you to age very gracefully!
My opinion on Stem Cells by Biopelle
I applied the Stem Cell cream at night over my Biopelle Retinol/Retexturizing Activator by SkinCeuticals for the non-retinol nights (as night time is the best time for cellular renewal in the skin). The cream delivered the perfect amount of moisture to my skin for the evening and felt tingly as it went on. As a 34 year old woman who does not smoke, protects her skin from the sun, receives peels and facials regularly as well as receives injections of Botox Cosmetic periodically, in all honesty I cannot claim that I’ve noticed an “improvement” in my skin. I will say that adding this to my regimen will absolutely support my skin’s rejuvenation as I age as well as help to maintain the condition that it is in presently! The Stem Cell Cream does contain a small amount of retinol, peptides, cermaide NP, Vitamins C & E, Humectants, Antuoxidants, Soothing Botanical Extracts and is paraben free. I highly recommend adding it to your regimen!
