Inspired by Valentine’s Day, today I am sharing my favorite romantic scents with you!
Let’s start with Wildfox. I’m about to date myself here, but to me, it smells like Electric Youth! ( Do y’all remember that? Debbie Gibson?! No? Okay….) It has top notes of absinthe, incense and apricot, Middle notes of camellia, honeysuckle and jasmine (what’s more romantic than honeysuckle?!) and base notes of ambrox, musk and honey. YUM!
Next, we have Esteé Lauder’s Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia. Oh. My. God. This smells like the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers ever! It’s a rich floral with top notes of neroli, rosewood and lilac, Middle notes of tuberose, gardenia, orange flower, jasmine and white lily and base notes of vanilla bourbon and carnation.
Laura Mercier’s L’Heure Magique is exquisite. It has been designed to capture the one single hour, where just before sunset the light reflects perfection and a woman looks her most beautiful… L’Heure Magique, the “Magic Hour”. This enchanting scent opens with pikake petals, bergamot and reveals white rose buds and pink geraniums dusted with soft spices. The final notes hint of sandalwood, amber and cashmere musk while providing a rich feeling of warmth and comfort. I discovered it this summer while scoping out a new cosmetics boutique and it haunted me for days. I was visiting Bloomingdale’s later that week and the regional sales rep for Laura Mercier happened to be there. She said, “It takes a very special person to be able to wear this scent…” SOLD! I bathed in it for literally the rest of the summer. You have to try! <3
Jo Malone London Red Roses– it really doesn’t get more classically romantic than a bouquet of long stemmed roses, does it? This scent smells like the flower AND the stem- the same way you would receive the scent of a full bouquet gifted to you by someone special. It also has very unique top notes of lemon, Middle of scarlet velvet rose and base notes of honeycomb. It is divine.
Last, but certainly not least, is Cartier’s Basier Volé. Translated to english it means “Stolen Kiss”- not only is it romantic but it is the perfect winter scent. An original creation from Cartier’s in-house perfumer, it is the expression of love according to Cartier. A story of pure passion told through a strikingly feminine and rare flower: the lily. It’s a pure floral fragrance, reflecting all its perfection for the first time: fresh, floral and powdery. You will love how the scent lingers on your favorite cashmere scarf on a frosty February night!
